The 1902 Brocante

The Galloway Family is at it again! They are breathing new life into the old Leland Hardware store on Broad Street through renovations and restorations.

Coming in a matter of weeks is The 1902 Brocante. Nestled in a historic commercial building located in Leland’s downtown area, the boutique will offer shoppers an opportunity to discover “one-of-a-kind treasures that embody timeless elegance and Southern charm.” Inside The 1902 Brocante will also include a Parisian-style coffee and pastry shop, as well as a flower shop.

Inspired by the open-air markets of France, The 1902 Brocante, which takes its name from the French word for shops where secondhand and vintage goods are sold, will bring “a curated collection of unique antiques, charming home décor, and vintage finds to the heart of the Mississippi Delta shopping experience.”

The Cottage at 303

The Cottage at 303 property is planned to serve as a more private bed and breakfast establishment. The Galloways plan for it to offer “unparalleled privacy,” and it will be open to registered guests only, as there will be no public restaurant or bar onsite.

The Cottage at 303 will “submerge guests in a luxury setting,” complete with their own butler. The bed and breakfast will offer hand curated breakfasts each morning, gourmet coffees, complimentary champagne at check in, and two complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres during evening cocktail hour with the owners.

As The Cottage at 303 is the sister property to The Thompson House Inn, guests will enjoy full privileges there, as well, including preferential reservations at The 1902 T.H. Restaurant and Bar, and guests can be shuttled down to the Inn to enjoy amenities there.

The Galloways are already hard at work with the design elements to restore The Cottage at 303 to her former beauty, so stay tuned for updates on her restoration progress, as this property requires more intensive structural work than any of their other properties.

Progress also continues at The Thompson House Inn, with the primary focus being finishing the speakeasy, installing mini split air conditioning units in all guest rooms, adding four additional guest rooms on the third floor, and adding historic-style sidewalks that will wrap around the mansion so that guests can view the gardens, landscaping and courtyard that are expected to be installed this year. Additionally, a chef’s garden and a greenhouse will be constructed at the back of the mansion for guests to walk through. The speakeasy, located in the mansion’s basement, is expected be opening soon.

To wrap up their 2025 focus, the Galloways plan to renovate the chipped stucco in various areas of the exterior and refresh the mansion’s exterior paint.
