Washington Co. Farm Bureau recognizes student winners in art contests

As part of the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation’s Ag in the Classroom initiative, the Washington County Farm Bureau invited local students to participate in the “2nd Grade Coloring Contest” and the “Ag Art Drawing Contest.” Organizers said the contests are designed to encourage creativity while helping students learn more about agriculture and its impact on daily life.

Olivia Howle of Washington School was named first-place winner in the 2nd Grade Coloring Contest. Runners-up were Charlotte Smythe and Mary Waldon King, also of Washington School.In the Ag Art Drawing Contest, Division I (grades 4–6) winners were Haley Boggs of Washington School and Layla Simpson of Deer Creek School.

Ag Art Drawing Contest, Division I (grades 4–6) winner: Layla Simpson of Deer Creek School.

Division II (grades 7–12) winners were Kennedi Dorsey, Fletcher McGaugh and Victor Baker, all of St. Joseph School. Baker was named the overall county winner. Winning entries from both contests were submitted to an 11-county divisional competition.
