City of Leland Updates
This past month has been a very busy one for the City of Leland. Residents saw an increase in their light and water bills due to rising temperatures. Residents also experienced several occasions where the water was temporarily shut off so that the City could install new valve cut offs. The work necessitated the water being turned off on separate occasions and also resulted in several boil water notices being sent out by the City.
The City of Leland is nearing the completion of their AARPA grant, which was used for water improvements.
In other actions, the City of Leland Code Enforcement Officer, Dquan Wilson, recommended to City leaders to condemn two homes, 208 Milam Street and 505 MLK Boulevard, both in the city limits of Leland Mississippi.
City leaders have also neared the completion of their budget for the 27/28 fiscal year. Throughout this month, there will be several public hearings to discuss the finalization of the budget before it is officially adopted.
