Jacob Venuti of Leland recognized by Notable Men

Jacob Venuti of Leland was recently recognized by Notable Men. Venuti was highlighted for his efforts in the Leland Rotary Club, The Leland Progress, Leland Chamber of Commerce Board, Leland Fire Department, Venuti Towing and Recovery LLC., and Office of Alderwoman Nancy Jo King.

Venuti says that he enjoys working for the betterment of Leland. Venuti shared the recognition publicly, expressing his appreciation for the opportunity and describing himself as “humbled and honored” to be featured by the publication.

According to Venuti, Notable Men contacted him to conduct an interview for the feature, an opportunity he said he did not expect.

At a young age, Venuti established himself as an active member of his community. At fifteen, he became the youngest firefighter in the history of the Leland Fire Department. A year later, he was inducted into Rotary, becoming the youngest person known to have been inducted into the local organization.

In addition to his work in government and journalism, Venuti is involved in his family’s long-standing towing business. He began assisting his father, Vince Venuti, with the operations of Venuti Towing and Recovery at seventeen and continues to serve as the Executive of Operations. The Venuti family celebrated eighty years of service to the community in 2026, tracing the family’s towing history in Leland back to 1946.

Venuti’s connection to his hometown has also expanded into journalism. In June 2026, The Leland Progress announced him as the newspaper’s editor and general manager. In that role, he oversees the publication’s editorial direction and business operations while working to expand local coverage and strengthen the newspaper’s connection to the Leland community.
