Leland company provides a “World Class” rescue

As California battled wildfires, the National Football League was determining if they were going to need to move the playoff game between the Rams and Vikings. The game was originally scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. At this point, the Arizona Cardinals were put on standby to potentially host the game. A lesser-known fact is that Leland, specifically World Class Athletic Surfaces, Inc., was put on standby, as well. World Class makes the paint and stencils for sporting event surfaces, and had been contracted to make the paint and stencils for the playoff game.

With just a few days remaining until the game, the decision was made to move the game from California to Arizona. This left two days to get paint and stencils made and shipped. As always, World Class was ready and had everything on the way within twenty-four hours. The story caught the attention of several news outlets, as well. Andy Leavy, director of turf for the Arizona Cardinals, conducted a televised interview on Fox, during which he praised World Class. The New York Times reached out to World Class while working on an article, as well.

Matthew Giachelli, vice president of production at World Class, stated, “At World Class, we have an amazing team that always comes together to get things done. We pride ourselves not only on the quality of our product, our customer service and quick turnaround, but also our exceptional team right here in Leland.”

Leavy and his team were able to convert their stadium from the Cardinal’s home field to the Rams’ home field virtually overnight with the help of World Class Athletic Surfaces.
