State’s first construction management graduate program targets industry needs

Mississippi State University will launch the state’s first graduate degree in construction management this fall, offering online and in-person options for students seeking leadership roles in the architecture, engineering and construction industries.

Approved by the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning, the Master of Science in Construction Management will be housed in MSU’s Department of Building Construction Science. Students may choose between research or professional tracks.

Developed with input from industry professionals, the curriculum reflects current trends in project management, data analysis and construction technology.

“This creates exciting new opportunities for students interested in this booming sector of the economy,” said Angi Elsea Bourgeois, dean of the College of Architecture, Art and Design.

Mississippi State is the only university in the state to offer a graduate-level construction management degree.
