Ring in the New Year by Saving Lives: Blood Donations Needed Across Mississippi

blood drive

As the New Year approaches, Mississippi Blood Services is urging Mississippians to donate blood as supplies reach critically low levels — particularly for O-, O+, B-, and B+ blood types.

Blood donations often decline during the holidays, even as hospital demand remains steady. Trauma victims, cancer patients, surgical patients and individuals with chronic illnesses rely on blood and platelet donations every day.

New Year Donation Incentives (Dec. 29–Jan. 3)

  • $20 Visa gift card for whole blood donations at MBS donation centers
  • $50 Visa gift card for platelet donations at MBS donation centers
  • $20 Visa gift card for whole blood donations at mobile drives on Dec. 31
