Reeves extends ad valorem tax deadline for Washington County

Gov. Tate Reeves has signed a proclamation extending the deadline for Mississippians in 49 impacted counties to submit ad valorem tax payments to county tax collectors and delaying fines for late payment.

Under the proclamation, the new deadline to pay ad valorem taxes in the affected counties is March 3, 2026.

The extension applies to the following counties: Adams, Alcorn, Attala, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Claiborne, Clarke, Clay, Coahoma, DeSoto, Grenada, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Itawamba, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leake, Leflore, Lowndes, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Newton, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Rankin, Smith, Sharkey, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Warren, Washington, Webster, Wilkinson, Yalobusha and Yazoo.

The proclamation delays penalties associated with late submission for taxpayers in the impacted counties.
