MS Wildlife Heritage Festival set for May 8-9

Leland residents are encouraged to mark their calendars and head to downtown Leland for a weekend that has been billed as bringing together some of the Delta’s favorite traditions. The 2026 Mississippi Wildlife Heritage Festival will combine FrogFest and the 34th Annual Leland Crawfish Festival with the event’s wildlife, outdoor traditions and conservation heritage theme. This year’s event, planned for May 8 and 9 in downtown Leland, will include educational exhibits, interactive activities, free live music and local vendors.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase crawfish plates during the lunchtime hours; and the legacy of Jim Henson, who grew up in Leland and went on to create the Muppets, will be honored with games and entertainment geared specifically for the area’s younger set.

Those attending are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to the Leland Food Pantry, as well as chairs or blankets for sitting.
