Witches take over the streets of Leland for annual Halloween ride
Witches took to the streets of Leland for the 2026 Witches Ride, hosted by the Leland Chamber of Commerce, bringing a little Halloween magic to the community and plenty of smiles to local children.
Dressed in their Halloween best, community members transformed golf carts, bicycles and side-by-sides into festive rides as they traveled through town, spreading Halloween cheer and tossing candy to children gathered along the route. From traditional witch hats and dark costumes to creatively decorated vehicles, participants embraced the Halloween spirit and helped make the event a memorable occasion for families throughout the community.
The annual Witches Ride offers residents an opportunity to come together for an evening of fun, fellowship and community involvement while celebrating the Halloween season. Children eagerly watched as the costumed riders made their way through town, collecting candy and enjoying the sights of the colorful procession.
Organizers say events such as the Witches Ride highlight the importance of community traditions in Leland, where neighbors come together to create lasting memories for the next generation. With the participation of local residents and the efforts of the Leland Chamber of Commerce, the event provided a festive way for families to celebrate Halloween close to home.
For Leland’s youngest Halloween enthusiasts, the evening offered plenty of treats, a few spooky sights and memories to carry into the rest of the Halloween season.
