Desoto Central High School wins first national title

The DeSoto Central High School dance team won its first national title in program history, placing first in the Varsity Intermediate Division I Hip Hop category at the 2026 Universal Dance Association National Dance Team Championship.

Among the team members is sophomore Jordyn Woods, who has family ties to the Mississippi Delta. Her maternal grandparents are Jackie Rice and Allen Rice, formerly of Leland, and her paternal grandparents are James and Earlean Woods of Greenville.
