City of Leland finalizes budget

The City of Leland spent the last few weeks working on and compiling a final version of the city’s budget. The following is a copy of the minutes to show what the 2026-27 budget for the City of Leland is.
Thereupon, after a discussion of the 2026-2027 final Municipal Budget for the ensuing fiscal year, Alderman Terron Morris moved the following Resolution be adopted establishing the budget of City of Leland for the year commencing October 1, 2026 and ending September 30, 2027; and The City Clerk be authorized and directed to publish the following budget (said budget is available for public inspection at the office of the City Clerk, 206 N Broad Street, Leland, Mississippi during regular business hours) as required by law, to-wit:
A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE BUDGET OF THE CITY OF LELAND FOR THE YEAR
COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2026 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2027 WHEREAS, The Mayor and Board of Alderperson of the City of Leland have, pursuant to law, prepared complete budgets of the municipal revenue and disbursements estimated for the next fiscal year said budget being as follows, to-wit
CITY OF LELAND, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI BUDGET




Thereupon Alderwoman Nancy King second the foregoing motion to adopt the above budget; and the motion being put to a vote the Alderperson voted as follows:
Alderwoman Nancy King voted “Yea” therefore. Alderman Terron Morris voted “Yea” therefore.
Alderman Michael Street voted ”Yea” therefore. Alderman Johnnie Jones voted “Yea” therefore.
The motion having received a majority of votes (Yea ) therefore, Vice Mayor Barbara Brooks declared the motion to have a majority of votes in favor therefore, to be passed and adopted; and the same was so ordered.
SO RESOLVED, this the 10th day of September, A.D., 2026
