Bridge closure on SR 27 could impact Leland-area drivers

The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) will temporarily close the State Route 27 bridge over the Big Black River from 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, through 6 a.m. Monday, July 14. The closure affects both directions at the Hinds and Warren County line.

The original closure was delayed due to forecasted rain. Crews will remove and replace the bridge end during the updated closure window.

Leland-area drivers, especially those making deliveries or traveling toward Vicksburg or Jackson, should plan alternate routes and allow for extra travel time.
