Delta Ducky to bring more ducks back to Deer Creek
Delta Ducky, an organization in the Mississippi Delta, is known for its rubber ducks. Delta Ducky started off as a small game for people around town to play, but it quickly grew in size. Members of the organization hide rubber ducks around different areas of town and post photos of them on Facebook, and people try to go and find where the duck is hidden based off of the photo that was posted.
Recently, Delta Ducky’s efforts have been expanded beyond rubber ducks. The group has decided to raise baby ducklings until they are large enough to be released in a large group into Deer Creek. The group is currently asking for the community’s help in securing funds for the ducklings’ care. The ducklings will be raised in Leland, and daily help will be needed.
The hope is for Deer Creek to return to its known reputation for being the home and sanctuary for ducks around town.
For more information on how to get involved by either volunteering or providing financial assistance, locate Delta Ducky’s Facebook page, and send them a message. Delta Ducky leaders say all help is appreciated.
