Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams have had very good starts to the season with the men sitting at a 9-8 record, and the women sitting at 11-8. However on Tuesday night both the men and women dropped a game in an away contest at North Side high school.
The men lost by nine points in what was their first game against North Side this season, however the two will meet again down the road on January 30th. That now makes it four losses in a row for this Leland men’s team, with all losses being within 10 points, and their last game decided by just 3 points.
On the Women’s side it was an even tighter game, with the Lady Cubs coming up just short with a 43-37 loss. This was the second time these two teams have met, with North Side winning the first contest as well, by a 10 point margin. The Ladies have been good as of late however, winning 4 of their last 5 before that game.
Both teams will try to get back into the win column on Saturday night, as the teams travel to Simmons high school. The Ladies are scheduled to play first at 6pm, followed by the men at 7pm.
