Leland’s Styles releases If Not: Making Peace with God’s Timing
Leland author Jasmine S. Styles has released her newest book, If Not: Making Peace with God’s Timing — Faith, Femininity, and the Power of Waiting without Wavering, a deeply personal, faith-centered work examining what it means to continue trusting God when life does not happen according to one’s own timeline.
At the heart of If Not is a question many believers eventually confront: What happens when you have prayed, prepared, remained faithful and waited—and the thing you hoped for still has not happened?
Styles explores that question through the lenses of faith, femininity, singleness, relationships, obedience, standards, purpose and spiritual wholeness. Drawing from her own experiences and biblical principles, she challenges readers to reconsider the idea that waiting means being forgotten, overlooked or left behind.
Rather than presenting waiting as an inactive season, If Not examines the growth, preparation and sometimes difficult surrender that can take place while a person waits. Styles writes candidly about learning to distinguish personal desires from God’s direction, refusing to compromise simply because a promise appears delayed, and developing a life that remains whole even before the answer to a prayer arrives.
The book’s message extends beyond relationships. Whether a reader is waiting for marriage, a career opportunity, a business breakthrough, healing, a family, financial change or another long-held prayer, If Not asks readers to consider whether their faith can remain steady even when God’s answer — or His timing — is different from what they expected.
Since its release, If Not has begun gaining momentum through direct sales, online sales, book readings and bookstore placement. Styles is also expanding distribution of the title to make it accessible to additional bookstores and readers.
Styles will hold her first official bookstore book signing and reading at The Next Chapter Bookshop in Leland on September 12. Set for 1 until 3 p.m., the event will include a reading from If Not, an author question-and-answer session and book signing.
Copies will be available for purchase and signing during the event.
For Styles, the release represents more than another addition to her growing catalog. If Not is an invitation to readers navigating their own seasons of uncertainty to continue moving, growing and trusting—even when they cannot yet see how their story will unfold.
The Next Chapter Bookshop is located at 102 East Third Street.
