MS Delta CC MLT students place 1st in competition

The Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) Program’s sophomore students and faculty recently attended the 2025 American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science’s (ASCLS) Bi-State Meeting held in Lafayette, Louisiana. Two teams from MDCC competed in the MLT Student Bowl Competition. Team A , which included Leland students Ashlynne Ross and Amethyst Washington, won first place in the competition.

MLT Program Director Dr. Janet Cooper was awarded the ASCLS-Mississippi 2025 Member of the Year Award. MLT Instructor Andrea Richardson was awarded the ASCLS-Mississippi 2025 Educator of the Year Award.
