Scholarship opportunity open for Leland High School seniors

The Leland High School (LHS) Class of 2011 is marking its fiftteen-year class reunion milestone with what class representatives say is a way to give back to the next generation of LHS graduates. The Class of 2011 will be awarding a $500 academic scholarship to a Class of 2026 LHS senior.

Those eligible to apply for the scholarship must be a senior at Leland High School and must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. The scholarship award committee is seeking a student who demonstrates academic effort, leadership, community involvement and a commitment to future success. Applicants must write a one-page essay and submit it by May 1, 2026. Applications should be submitted to [email protected].
