Delta Council to honor top grads at annual meeting May 8

The Delta Council will recognize outstanding high school seniors from across the region during its 25th Annual Salute to Delta Honor Graduates on Friday, May 8, at the Mississippi State University Delta Research and Extension Center.

The ceremony begins at 9 a.m., followed by the Delta Council Annual Meeting at 10:30 a.m. on The Lawn at the Capps Center in Stoneville.

The event honors two seniors from each Delta high school based on academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. One student will be named Top Delta Honor Graduate and receive a $2,500 scholarship.

Featured speakers include Dr. Jerryl Briggs, president of Mississippi Valley State University, and Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann.
