LELAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO HOST ANNUAL MEETING AND BANQUET MARCH 25, 2025
Leland Chamber of Commerce will host its 2025 Annual Meeting and Banquet on March 25, 2025, at the Charles Capps Jr. Entrepreneurial Center on the Stoneville campus of Mississippi State University. The event will feature a business showcase, silent auction, cocktail hour, sponsored by Mitchell Distributing, and dinner catered by Cicero’s Restaurant. Local historian Daryl Lewis will be the speaker. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased by calling the chamber office, at 662-379-6473, or from any chamber board member. Tickets are also available at Leland City Hall and Lagniappe.
Daryl, a lifelong resident of Leland, graduated from Leland High School and earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Delta State University. He has been selected for Mississippi’s American History Teacher of the Year and the Mississippi Economic Council’s STAR Teacher Hall of Fame.
He has served on the Leland Historic Preservation Commission and has compiled the Leland Progress history column, Recollections for over 30 years. He has been actively involved with Billy Johnson in organizing the Our Town Museum since 2022.
The Leland Chamber of Commerce has been serving the community of Leland and nearby areas since 1968. The Chamber was established to advance the civic interests of the City of Leland and its surrounding areas. Recently, the Chamber has been collaborating with several new business owners to support their ventures. The upcoming Wildlife Festival and Christmas on Deer Creek are also sponsored by the Leland Chamber of Commerce along with the generous support of businesses throughout the Delta area.
According to Brocato, the annual event brings together many community members who share common interests. The Silent Auction, organized by Nancy Jo King and Patricia Maugh, offers a wide range of items to bid on. Ryan Moore from Cicero’s will be catering the meal.
