Master Gardeners bottle honey, host district meeting

Washington County Master Gardeners had a sweet assignment last month: extracting and labeling 56 bottles of honey for the Mississippi Master Gardener Association Northwest District meeting swag bags.

Then, on September 18, Washington County and Sharkey/Issaquena County Master Gardeners hosted the 2025 district meeting at the Delta Research and Extension Center’s Capps Center. Speakers included Merrell Rogers and Lee Pryor on choosing roses for Mississippi’s hot, humid climate and Audrey Sheridan on honey bee foraging behavior. The day ended with a tour of the Washington County Master Gardeners’ Rose Garden, led by Alice Permenter.
