May 17 brings 2nd annual VetHERan’s Stand Down event
Boots to Beyond, Inc., a Greenville-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving veterans, will hold its second annual VetHERan’s Stand Down on Saturday, May 17.
The free, women-focused event is open to all women veterans and will provide critical resources, ranging from VA benefits assistance and health services to financial literacy education and more. The event is designed to celebrate, uplift and empower women who have served their country, while connecting them with the tools and support they need to thrive beyond the uniform.
A panelist speaker for the event, which will be held at the Washington County Convention Center in Greenville, is Lieutenant Colonel Theresa Joseph, whose decades of military service and advocacy for women in uniform have inspired countless others. Lt. Col. Joseph will speak on the unique challenges and triumphs of women veterans and the power of community in fostering healing and resilience.
“Women veterans often face unique barriers when it comes to accessing the care and support they need,” said Tabbatha Magee, CEO of Boots to Beyond, Inc. “VetHERan’s Stand Down is about more than just services—it’s about making space for women who served to be seen, heard and supported. We want them to know they are not alone, and that this community is here to lift them up.”
Boots to Beyond encourages all women veterans—regardless of discharge status or service era—to attend. In addition to the keynote address and resource booths, the event will feature networking opportunities, wellness screenings, and giveaways.
