Reese celebrates 93rd birthday

A joyful celebration was held in honor of Sadie Mae Reese’s 93rd birthday.

Sadie Mae Reese celebrated her 93rd birthday in December 2024. Reese, a lifelong resident of Leland and the proud mother of nine children, has been a rock for her family. Reese comes from a small family: one brother, the late Jessie Reese.

For many years, Reese has made her home at 111 Lewis Street in Leland. She says her family, friends and faith keep her going.

She says she enjoys watching television, puzzle books and licking on her Dum Dum candy. She says her strength in God remains an inspiration to her life. She is a member of St. Peter’s M.B. Church in Leland.
