The Leland Rotary Club recently announced the recipients of the 2025 Davis Clark Community Service Memorial Scholarship: Marie Shaw and Spencer Carlisle. Each student has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of their exceptional commitment to community service.
Shaw, a graduating senior at Deer Creek School, will attend Mississippi State University this fall. Spencer, a graduate of Washington School, plans to begin his studies at the University of Mississippi. Both students have demonstrated a strong dedication to serving their communities, embodying the spirit of the scholarship, which honors the memory of former Rotarian Davis Clark and his legacy of service in the Leland area.
“These scholarships reflect the Leland Rotary Club’s commitment to fostering a spirit of service and leadership in our youth,” said Leland Rotary Club Scholarship Chairman Robbie Howe. “Marie and Spencer represent the best of our community—young people who understand the value of giving back and making a difference in the lives of others.”
The Davis Clark Community Service Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to Leland-based students who show a sustained commitment to community engagement and volunteerism.
The Leland Rotary Club congratulates Marie and Spencer and wishes them continued success as they begin their college journeys.
