Wildlife Heritage Festival set for May 8–9 in Leland

Wildlife Fest GraphicThe Mississippi Wildlife Heritage Festival returns to downtown Leland May 8–9, offering a weekend of live music, food and family-friendly activities celebrating the Delta’s outdoor traditions.

Live music begins Friday with Will Coppage from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Turquoise Willie from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday’s lineup includes Howl and the Big Bad Wolves from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Chris Knight from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and Landslide, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, from 7 to 9 p.m.

FrogFest is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and will feature children’s activities including frog jumping, a “Kermit Hop” contest at 1 p.m., and dog jumping demonstrations, along with other family-friendly events. Crawfish and other festival food will be available for purchase.

VIP tent tickets, priced at $150 per adult and including refreshments, remain available. Child tickets may be purchased with an adult ticket.

Raffle tickets for a wooden turkey sculpture are $20.

Food vendors and a beer tent will be available on site; attendees should plan accordingly. Proceeds from the beer tent, VIP tickets and raffle support downtown restoration efforts and local businesses through the Leland Chamber of Commerce.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and two canned goods per person, or an equivalent donation, to support the Leland Food Pantry.
