World Class sends a piece of Leland to the Super Bowl

By Keri Baldwin

World Class Athletic Surfaces has been involved with the National Football League, specifically the Super Bowl, for twenty-five years, and this year was no exception. They have provided paint, stencils, painting equipment and more throughout the decades.

Scott Cox, the head stencil artist for World Class, began working on the Super Bowl logo artwork in December. The intricacy and detail in the design required hours of editing and review in order to ready it for printing. With the help of Deladrick Walker, Aaron Wallace, Matthew Giachelli and the rest of the World Class team, the stencil was produced and hand delivered to the Ceasar’s Superdome for the game.

“For the past twenty-five years, the NFL and Leland, Mississippi, have shared a unique connection – the Super Bowl,” said Cox. “World Class Athletic Surfaces has had a hand in getting the country’s most viewed sports event ready for Super Sunday.”

“The on-field logos and paint are manufactured by the team based in Leland and shipped to the host site in preparation for the main event,” Cox continued. “Super Bowl XXXV, in Tampa, was the beginning of the collaboration journey with the NFL that continues today.”

“Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans marked the twenty-fifth consecutive year of World Class representing Leland on the world stage.”

Although the Super Bowl is over, World Class is still in full swing, moving on to baseball and softball, from parks and recreation teams all the way to Major League Baseball; and Lelanders can see their fellow neighbors from World Class all over the world.
