Philip Buster Morlino Jr., 74, of Leland, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 6, in Jackson, Mississippi. Services will be handled under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, details forthcoming.
Buster was born on November 21, 1951, in Richton, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Philip “Buster” Morlino Sr. and Beatrice Morlino. He graduated from Leland High School in 1969 and later attended Henderson-Brown College. Buster worked as a concrete technician in various capacities over the years and retired from MDOT in February 2025.
Buster had a deep love of sports, especially Southern Miss Athletics. An avid Southern Miss fan, he enjoyed attending games and cheering on the Golden Eagles. He also enjoyed going to the horse races, playing fantasy football, and watching baseball and football. Sports brought him great enjoyment and created many cherished memories with family and friends.
Buster was also a very loyal friend. He valued the friendships he made throughout his life and was someone others could count on through good times and difficult ones. His loyalty, kindness, and genuine care for those around him left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Buster and Bea Morlino, his brother Brad Morlino, and his sister Lela Rose Bush.
Above all, Buster loved his family. He is survived by his daughter, Allyson Morlino Flowers (Byron); his son, Daniel Morlino (Juliana); his grandchildren, Bradley and Ellie Flowers and two nieces, Beth and Ellie.
Buster leaves behind a lifetime of memories filled with family, friendship, sports, laughter, and the simple pleasures he enjoyed most. His love for his family, loyalty to his friends, and unmistakable personality will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
